We Eloped: More Info

HERE'S THE STORY
(from the Bride’s perspective.)

Just us, some friends, some family, and some view -

We went back and forth for weeks ( by we I mean me, Begga)  if this was really what we (again, I ) wanted.

I thought about all the things I was missing out on -

All the pictures - the ones with grandparents, with mom and dad, with old friends, with cousins, with nieces and nephew, and with EVERY loved human in our lives as individuals and a couple. I would not get any of them.

The Celebration - the truly sweet memories, the power and warmth that is tangible when everyone gathers to celebrate LOVE.

Believe me, there were many tears about ALL OF IT. (ask Ben).

I was sad for me, sad for everyone I wanted to be there to celebrate with us, and just sad about everything that was happening. With my parents ( Jana and Randy ) living in China, there was no way to really set a wedding date without a pretty long engagement - even then it wasn't promised.

So we just decided to do it somewhat our timing, somewhat subject to shipping timelines.

I ordered a beautiful white dress.  Weeks later we got a call that was backordered until June. I found a blue one instead! There was no way to just go to a few stores and try things on and pick from all the options. EVERYTHING WAS CLOSED. After a couple online orders and mailing some things back, we set the date and pulled it all together.

We decided on St. George at a scenic overlook just off the side of the road.

Ben pulled out his blue tux to match and ordered me a bouquet from his super talented friend. We asked some close friends to take pictures and another to officiate the ceremony for us. He even surprised us by including Ben’s little sister in the ceremony! Despite not having every single human we would have wanted there, it was perfect.

We gathered with the small group we could and said “I DO!”

The clouds rolled in to provide some beautiful lighting, and the blue dress went so well with the red rock. Even the beautiful bouquet - I was unsure about how pink it was - went so beautifully with both my dress and the scenery.

I LOVED IT ALL. At the end of the day, I am so happy to be married.

We look forward to future celebrations with some more loved ones (and that's you)!

xoxo

The bride in blue,

Becca / Begga.
